NIMOS / THE STUDIO
TEAM PAGE · 2026
One studio, and the bench it is trying to build.
Nimos Websites builds the site and the machinery behind it for businesses run by one person doing everything. It is a studio of one that is trying to become a studio of many — and the people who would make that true are not here yet.
AS A CLIENT
The owner who works twelve hours a day deserves a business that runs while they sleep.
The business this studio was built for is not a startup. It is the shop that opens at six, closes at eight, and does the books at ten. The owner is the marketing department, the sales floor and the delivery van — and the website is the only piece of that business that can be running while they sleep.
FIVE MOVES, AND THE STUDIO DOES ALL FIVE
YOUR STORY, TOLD PROPERLY
The thing you know that nobody else can say — written down, in your voice, and put where people find it.
YOUR INSIGHT, MADE VISIBLE
What you have learned doing this for years, turned into something a customer can see and believe.
BETTER PACKAGES
What you sell, re-cut into offers people buy — instead of a list of services and a price list.
YOUR WORK, PROPERLY SCOPED
The scope written down before anybody starts, so what you are getting is a document and not a surprise.
A CLIENT FEE THAT KEEPS
A monthly arrangement — care, changes, campaigns, new pages — so the revenue repeats instead of restarting every project.
None of that is a promise about results. It is a description of the work: the studio does not sell traffic and it does not sell rankings. It sells the design and the delivery, written down, and the machinery behind it.
File a brief — it is free →ON THE TEAM
Not employees. Operators.
A contractor is a person or a business that invoices the studio for specific work, on a written scope, and answers to their own tax, their own insurance and their own calendar. That is the arrangement now, and it is an honest one: no timesheets, no PTO, no benefits — and in exchange, no manager between you and the work, and a rate set before you start rather than negotiated after.
The studio also runs on software. Agents answer, draft, research and follow up; the people above are the ones who decide what is right and who is accountable for it. A person is not a slower agent — they are the one who says no.
THE VISION
Five years, and thirty.
FIVE YEARS
- Five years: the studio stops being one person typing and starts being a bench that ships — with the same standard, on more than one client a week.
- The client record becomes the product. A business owner can see their site's work, their numbers and their next step without asking anyone.
- The service list becomes a menu with prices on it, in the open, like the studio's own sites.
- The library — the playbook, the corpus, the pattern set — is licensed to other small firms instead of only used here.
THIRTY YEARS
- Thirty years: the standard is a thing other studios are measured against, and the studio that invented it is a name people know.
- Every small business in the Okanagan that wanted a proper web presence got one, and most of them never thought about it again.
- The work gets cheaper for the client every year and better for everybody — because the tools get cheaper and the taste gets sharper.
- The bench is bigger than the studio, and the studio is still small.
WHAT THE STUDIO IS
Six things, all of them running.
Not a roadmap of ideas — the list of what the studio runs, sells, and is building this month.
CLIENT SITES
Brief to scope to signed agreement to build to handover, with the client able to see their own record the whole way.
MOTION MENU
597 numbered patterns, live, with a registry other projects install from.
THE NIMOS OS
The operations view: what the site did, what it caught, what it is waiting on. For the owner, not for us.
GANTRY AND ELEVEN ENGINES
The build system. One door, eleven cells, and a stage that closes only on evidence.
THE HOUSE LIBRARY
Thirty-three chapters of furniture procurement, the ops corpus and the essays — written down, so answers come from a shelf instead of from memory.
THREE LIVE BUSINESSES
DAF, MilkMan and WezelBezel, all run on the same system the studio sells.
THE BAR
The best of the best, and then some.
TOP ONE PERCENT IN SCHOOL
You were the person who could always do the work. Not the loudest one — the one who shipped.
TOP ONE PERCENT IN THE PROVINCE
Other people in your field know what you are capable of, and it is not a rumour.
TOP ONE PERCENT IN THE COUNTRY
Your work has been seen by people who have never met you, and it held up.
PRO GAMER
You read the matchup, you learn a new system fast, and you are measurably better in month one than on day one. Games are won by people who take the feedback and use it.
CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF
And honest enough to be wrong out loud. The review is on the work, never on your worth.
IF YOU THINK YOU ARE UNIQUE, THERE IS NO LIMIT
Bring the thing nobody else can do. The studio is not looking for people who fit a list — it is looking for the one person who changes what the list is.
HOW IT IS DECIDED
1. YOU SHARE A VICTORY
The one thing you are proudest of, and what it changed for whoever it was for.
2. THIRTY MINUTES
A call with Ben. He asks about the work, not about you.
3. A PAID TRIAL
A real brief, paid at the trial rate, with the review to match.
4. A STANDING PLACE
If you both want it, you get a place on the bench — and the first repeat brief.
THE MONEY
Written down before you say yes.
STRUCTURE
Independent contractors invoicing the studio. You are not on payroll and the studio is not your employer.
RATE
Per project, agreed in writing before the first hour, in Canadian dollars.
INVOICING
On milestones. An invoice is a list of what landed and where it is — not a timesheet.
PAYMENT CYCLE
Fourteen days from an approved invoice. Every time, no exceptions to remember.
PAPERWORK
A one-page agreement, signed in the browser before the work starts. BC's Electronic Transactions Act means you get a real chance to read it and correct it before you sign.
TAX AND BENEFITS
Yours. The studio does not withhold tax, does not run payroll and does not provide benefits. You handle your tax, your CPP and your benefits.
EQUIPMENT
Yours — or the studio buys it when a brief calls for it, and it stays yours.
AND THE HONEST ANSWER TO "CAN I HIRE?"
You can engage people as contractors today, which is what this page is: a written agreement, an invoice, a payment, and a real working relationship on both sides. That is legal, it is simple, and it is what a one-person studio can actually do well.
To employ people in British Columbia the studio has to become an employer: a business number with the Canada Revenue Agency, a payroll account for CPP, EI and income-tax withholding, WorkSafeBC registration, and the Employment Standards Act on vacation pay, statutory holidays, notice and minimum wage — with the employee also getting benefits a contractor does not. That is a real step and a decision, not a form.
I am not a lawyer and this page is not legal advice. If you want to incorporate, or a contract looks unusual to you, get a professional to read it — and if that is what it takes for you to be comfortable, the studio will pay for the hour.
APPLY
Share a victory.
One thing you are proudest of, what it changed, and what you would want to build here. No cover letter, no résumé upload — the work speaks, and Ben reads these himself, in order, usually within one business day.
IF IT IS NOT YOU
No hard feelings and no mailing list. If you are here to hire a studio instead, that is a different door.
