What it is
The scroll layer on the pages that use it. Lenis owns the scroll, feeds ScrollTrigger and is destroyed on unmount; the reading pages scroll natively.
What it does for your business
For your business it means the site feels expensive before a single word is read. Visitors can't name why your page feels better than a competitor's — they just stay on it.
Why it earns its place
Smooth scroll is a physical cue. Done well it makes the page feel weighted; done badly it fights the browser, traps a keyboard user and breaks reduced motion.
Lenis owns scroll on this site's home page and on the tool pages you can reach from here. It is not mounted on every route — the writing pages scroll natively.

still, no physicsLenis is on the home and tool surfaces. The essay pages use native scroll because reading does not need physics.
How it runs here
Lenis owns the scroll on the pages that use it. It is tied to the GSAP ticker, updates ScrollTrigger on every scroll, and is destroyed on unmount. Reduced-motion users get the page without the physics.
ONE SCROLL OWNER
TSconst lenis = new Lenis({ lerp: 0.09, smoothWheel: true });lenis.on("scroll", ScrollTrigger.update);gsap.ticker.add((time) => lenis.raf(time * 1000));gsap.ticker.lagSmoothing(0);// cleanuplenis.destroy();When it runs
A page with scroll choreography. Not every route: the writing pages scroll natively.
Who owns it
Build owns the instance and cleanup. Motion owns the feel. QA checks the still and the keyboard path.
What it does not claim
Smooth scroll is a preference, not a requirement. A page that only works with Lenis is a page with an accessibility bug.
