What it is
A real browser that measures the site at 390 and 1440: type size, contrast, tap targets, overflow, missing assets and the route's background register. It is the design audit's instrument, not a claim that every form was clicked.
What it does for your business
For your business it means a page cannot pass because it looks fine on one screen; the same route is measured at the phone and desktop widths before release.
Why it earns its place
A page can pass a type check and still be unreadable on a phone. A real browser catches the failures a source scan cannot: overflow, contrast, tap targets, a missing asset.
The browser audit is a studio gate, not a CI job: GitHub Actions runs the tests, type check and build, while the design audit drives Chromium at 390 and 1440 before a release.

How it runs here
The design audit drives Chromium at 390 and 1440, reads computed styles, measures contrast and horizontal overflow, and fails on findings. Screenshots are taken from the same browser, not mocked.
THE BROWSER GATE
JSconst page = await browser.newPage({ viewport: { width: 390, height: 844 },});await page.goto("https://nimoswebsites.com/gantry");await page.screenshot({ path: "qa/evidence/gantry-390.png" });When it runs
Before a release and after a visual change. The gate is the audit, not a promise that a human looked.
Who owns it
QA owns the corridor. Build fixes the finding. A human still reads the page; the browser is a scope, not a substitute for judgment.
What it does not claim
A pass is a point-in-time measurement. It does not prove a page will never break, and it does not replace reading the copy for truth.
THE REFERENCE
