What it is

A real Postgres database behind the site — where briefs, portal updates and build records live. Not a spreadsheet on one person's laptop, not a form that emails into the void and vanishes.

What it does for your business

For your business it means every enquiry is a record with status and history — nothing sits unanswered because an email was missed, and nothing is lost because a laptop was replaced.

Why it earns its place

Briefs, build records, portal updates and events need one source of truth. A spreadsheet on one laptop cannot be the record a client and the studio both read.

Runs the Nimos Websites funnel — every brief and portal update stored there.

The record behind the funnel

USED ON THIS BUILD

Driver

pg 8.23

Pool ceiling

3 connections

Connection env

NEON_FUNNEL_DB

Missing env

fails closed

Schema changes live in db/*.sql and are reviewed before they run. Client rows are never published on this site.

How it runs here

A small `pg` pool connects with `NEON_FUNNEL_DB`, max three connections, SSL unless the local string disables it. Queries are parameterized. If the connection string is missing the app fails closed instead of pretending a write happened.

THE POOL

TS
const pool = new Pool({  connectionString: process.env.NEON_FUNNEL_DB,  max: 3,  ssl: { rejectUnauthorized: false },}); export async function q(sql, params = []) {  const result = await pool.query(sql, params);  return result.rows;}

When it runs

Brief intake, portal reads and writes, build events, mail suppression checks, and any page that reads a record rather than static copy.

Who owns it

Build owns the schema and queries. Data owns migrations and backups. Ops checks the fail-closed path before a release.

What it does not claim

The database is not public. This page documents the shape and the safety rule; it does not expose client records or connection strings.

THE REFERENCE

The manual above is ours. The vendor's reference is the place to check an API, a version or a limit.
