What it is

The cash register: deposits and retainers run on the client's own Stripe account; plan purchases on the plan page run through Nimos Websites' Stripe account. In both cases the card form is rendered by Stripe.

What it does for your business

For your business it means a deposit can be paid in the flow and recorded against the job; card data never touches the site.

Why it earns its place

A deposit has to be a real payment with a record, not an invoice chased by hand. Card data should never touch the site's server.

Integrated per build. Payments run through the business's Stripe account — we hold only our own key, and we cannot move funds in or out of yours without your permission.

Card storage

none on our side

Public pages name the tier; the number is in the brief and the checkout. The site does not store a card.

How it runs here

The server creates an embedded Checkout Session with the official SDK. Stripe renders the card form inside the page; the browser confirms the session; the webhook records the event. Amounts and currency live in Stripe, not in public copy.

AN EMBEDDED SESSION

TS
const session = await stripeFor(secret).checkout.sessions.create({  ui_mode: "embedded_page",  mode: "payment",  line_items: [{ price: price.id, quantity: 1 }],  return_url: `${origin}/checkout/${slug}/return?session_id={CHECKOUT_SESSION_ID}`,  metadata: { brief_id, via: "embedded" },});

When it runs

A client accepts a scope and pays a deposit, or a monthly retainer begins. Not for quoting a price on a page.

Who owns it

Build owns the session and webhook. The operator owns the Stripe account. A client owns their own account when the build is theirs.

What it does not claim

Stripe's fees, payout schedule and account rules are Stripe's. This page documents the integration; it does not promise a payment will clear.
