What it is
The transactional mail layer for this site's funnel: brief confirmations, sign-in codes and account notices. It is deliberately narrow — no bulk, no marketing, no agent-sent outreach.
What it does for your business
For your business it means the mail that must arrive is typed, gated and logged; everything else has to be a human decision.
Why it earns its place
A brief confirmation and a sign-in code have to arrive. They also have to be the only things this system can send without a person choosing to send them.
This site's brief confirmations and login codes go through it.
The gate is the feature

transactionalNon-production
captured, not sentAgent outreach
refusedThe source has no general-purpose send function. That is deliberate: an agent cannot call a function that does not exist.
How it runs here
Every send is a typed function with one recipient and a pinned subject. The mailer checks the suppression table, renders HTML and plain text, adds the compliance footer and unsubscribe headers, then calls Resend. Non-production runs capture the message instead of opening a socket.
A TYPED SEND
TSexport async function sendBriefConfirmation( to: string, businessName: string, token: string,): Promise<SendOutcome> { const addr = assertSingle(to); const link = `${siteUrl()}/status/${token}`; return deliver(addr, subject, html, text, "brief_note");}When it runs
A person files a brief, requests a sign-in code, receives an account notice, or a human sends an approved reply from the workbench. Not for agent-initiated outreach.
Who owns it
Build owns the templates. Compliance owns the footer and suppression rule. The operator owns the sender domain and the live keys.
What it does not claim
Deliverability is not a guarantee. The system can prove a message was accepted by the provider; it cannot prove an inbox placed it in the primary tab.
